Beyond the Physical Asset: Shaping the Future of Community Living in Qatar
Dr. Ali Al-Khalifa, CEO of Mesaimeer City Real Estate Company, shares how the company is growing with purpose and building a complete community for residents.

Qatar’s property market is changing. Buyers and tenants now look at the whole living experience, not just the size of the apartment. In a feature interview in the October 2026 issue of Business Leaders magazine, Dr. Ali Al-Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Mesaimeer City Real Estate Company, explained how the company is responding.
Experience built on national projects
Dr. Al-Khalifa previously led ASTAD and served as CEO of Zones Development at the Qatar Free Zones Authority. He also holds a doctorate from Warwick Business School, where he researched dispute avoidance in construction projects across Qatar and the GCC. He now brings that background to a new phase for the company.
Our vision is to establish Mesaimeer City Real Estate Company as a trusted, sustainable and future-focused real estate company.
Growing with purpose
The company is moving from a single-development operator to a broader real estate platform. Its first priority is keeping existing assets strong and well managed. Its second is selective growth through new acquisitions and developments that fit its strategy.
Growth is not simply about increasing the number of assets.
As part of that plan, the company intends to acquire nine service land plots from Barwa Real Estate Group to expand the lifestyle and service offering available to Mesaimeer City residents.
A complete community, not just housing
Mesaimeer City was planned as a full residential community. Homes range from studios to larger family apartments, with schools, shops, everyday services, sports and fitness facilities, children’s areas and landscaped open spaces close by. Dr. Al-Khalifa describes green spaces as a core part of the community experience rather than leftover land between buildings.
This approach supports the quality-of-life and sustainability goals of Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030.

The road ahead
The company is also refreshing its corporate identity so it can represent a growing portfolio while each property keeps its own character. Asked to describe the company in five words, Dr. Al-Khalifa chose: ambitious, responsible, sustainable, evolving and future-focused.
